Crashing of Football Manager 2021 at the start of a game

I used to utilise Proton Experimental and Steam Play to run FM21 on Linux Mint without any issues. But ever since Linux Mint received an update, every time I enter a match, the game crashes. Up until that moment, everything is going well, and I can conduct team meetings, etc. When the real match begins, it briefly loads before crashing to the desktop without an error message.

Although I am aware that FM21 does not support Linux, I find it strange that after previously operating without issue, matches can no longer be played. While searching for a fix, I've switched to FM18, but if nothing works, I'll probably go back to Windows (just seems to be a major hassle).
